This is beautiful, sparkling piece of Utah’s silver rush history. Rare specimens like these often came from the richer zones of the Park City veins, with an ore grade of 10–60 oz/ton (0.03–0.18% Ag/Silver)

The brilliant metallic luster shine comes from the silver-gray galena (the primary silver-bearing mineral), as well as brassy pyrite and occasional dark metallic tetrahedrite — all intergrown in a natural quartz-rich host rock. These minerals once formed deep underground in hydrothermal veins that produced millions of ounces of silver during the boom years.

This specimen was ethically hand-collected from the historic Judge Daly Mine tailings above Park City, Utah — once part of one of America’s richest silver districts. Each piece is a tangible fragment of the 1800s mining era that helped build the town of Park City long before it became a ski resort.
